Poor form from Assuies again

As part of the piss poor organising of the F18 worlds no sign on sheet
was supplied. Tables where on hand so AUS 222 (yours truely) was first
to use the table as the sign on sheet. Photo is of another 160 boats
doing the same and as usual the French being rather pissed off. James

End of day 4

Hmmmmmmmm, no wind but still raced. 1st, well dead last or a DNF as
past the finish time. We then all get sent home to sit on the beach
for the next 1hr to have 1 good race. Still not a good result for us
as around 70th.

Yeh, 3rd race canceled but fighting hard for next to last place in the
gold fleet. Still lots of good guys out the back but we are consistant
in the last 10.

All races in under 8 knts

Day 4, Gold Fleet

Today had ups and downs, plenty of damage on the water and lots of top
guys in and out.

Made my worlds starting on port both 2nd and 3rd races and top 10 to
the first mark.

60th, 30th, and a dead 2nd last. Very light winds and some
exceptionaly good sailors in this fleet.

Hope to have wind tomorrow but happy with our starts and top mark
roundings just goes downhill from there

Not happy Jan. Under 5 knts

Day 4 not much better

Hmmmm, we scraped thru into gold fleet with an overall 77th position.
Looks like we will try for the woodsucks in Gold but we made it.

See wind below, nil

End of day 3

Not such a good day and still waiting for final results for the 6th
race.

Race 4 first for the day was light, under 5 knts and very bumpy. Final
result was a 56th.

Race 5 was in much the same wind, 0-5 knts with a really bumpy sea due
to the tide. 61st overall

Race 6, still to see final results but had up to 10 knts and was much
better for us. We think we are around 20th in this race.

After 5 races we are sitting at 84th position but with a 20th in race
6 should bring us down quite a few spots and into Gold fleet starting
tomorrow.

Still no wind

Boys have reverted to hand ball.

Day 3 start of the day

Boat all ready, start delay yet again.

The wind is around 5knts but we hope to see around 10 today which can
keep us up the fleet.

Big issue with Bundy as a DNF and DSQ yesterday which hurt him as he
was the top boat.

Day 2 results and sailing

Start was delayed by 2 hrs as standard French organisation was shit.
We hit the water in 10knts but built to 15-18 during the day.

Race 1. Bad position second row and flopped onto port, not a good
move. Ducked 90% of the fleet but still stayed in there.

Race 2. Pin end start, smoking. Rounded top mark in 10th spot just
behind Bundy, kite then hooks behind mainsail battens and we loose 20
spots.

Get going and pull back a few places to windward as we are in the
grove this rime around. Finish in the top end of the fleet and more
than happy.

Race 3. Bad bad start. some frenchy stuffs us up so we gamble and flop
to port and thread the fleet. Pays off and top 15 to the first mark,
we have a good downwind but loose a few spots into the gate but still
strong.

Doing well to windward, high and fast and do a clean race but just out
of the top pack.

Overall good results with a 50th, 16th, and 28th. Sitting in 58th out
of 161 boats.

Day 2 first race to come

We wake up expecting under 5 knts but it's been blowing 10-15 all night.

Aussies are happy. I will give an update and results after racing

Day 1

Invitation race, start 1 general, start 2 general but most of us kept going.

We where around 30th in the fleet but light moderate winds so realy strugled most of the race.

Forcast is for 1-5 knots for the next 3 days. Not sure how we are going to go but the boat feels not to bad.

A delay but back on line

Well, since my saga flight to Paris things have been Good and Bad. Italy was wonderful as usual and I went to see the Australian guys at the A Class worlds 2 hrs from Venice, thinking this would have been good with the exception that Air France lost my bags "Bugger, Bugger, Bugger"

Time in Cesenatico could not have been better with lots of pics to be uploaded once I have proper internet again. See picks of the mighty Panda that reaches 170Km, and yes the typical Euro brunette who the USA Team adopted at the opening ceremony


Back to Paris next, :)
